When he took over as Prime Minister, Singapore’s annual per capital income was $400; today it is estimated at $56,000.

In western democracy the party or candidate that gets the most votes is the winner. Such a system may seem fair but in reality can create terrible outcomes. For instance, a large number of candidates can divide votes so that a totally unpopular candidate can squirm his way to power. In the US, western democracy could not prevent the theft of the 2000 Presidential elections where Al Gore got more votes than George W. Bush and still lost, leading to the Iraq War.

NOTE: The "per capita" income in the U.S. is about $53,042 (lower than Singapore's). But "per capita" means the "average" (not the "median"), so it is very misleading as it can be very skewed by higher-income earners at the very top. (Just as when the Bureau of Labor Statistics reports the "average" wage".) Sentier Research showed the annual "median household income" in the U.S. to be $54,010 (about the same as the U.S. "per capita" income) — but this also includes dual/multiple income earners per household. If you divide the "median household income" by 2, it is $27,005 — slightly less than the last reported "median wage" of $28,031 (where have earn less, and half earn more). In America, we need two people to pay the rent.Bud Meyershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02065020063363023395noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7895164153505105997.post-59625007956234559542015-03-29T11:24:26.303-07:002015-03-29T11:24:26.303-07:00The thieving class hide under the cover of democra...The thieving class hide under the cover of democracy to rob others ..

http://in.rbth.com/blogs/2015/03/24/how_lee_kuan_yew_and_putin_exposed_the_democracy_bogey_42167.htmlAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
