Bernanke also acknowledged that there is still a problem with the long-term unemployed and a falling labor participation rate --- and he also said it that it was demographic and structural --- and because of "discouraged workers" (not because of a temporary business trend) So this unemployment thing might be a permanent situation. I guess the more people out of work (and the longer) the better the stock market.Bud Meyershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02065020063363023395noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7895164153505105997.post-26959173892293930962013-12-17T04:50:31.331-08:002013-12-17T04:50:31.331-08:00Discouraged Workers, not Disabled, Shrinking the L...Discouraged Workers, not Disabled, Shrinking the Labor Force

http://bud-meyers.blogspot.com/2013/12/discouraged-workers-not-disabled.html
Bud Meyershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02065020063363023395noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7895164153505105997.post-31224082171653192202013-12-17T04:25:36.493-08:002013-12-17T04:25:36.493-08:00And what makes this report even more distressing i...And what makes this report even more distressing is that, while the Labor Participation Rate continues to decline, the Non-Farm
productivity rate also continues to climb, even during the worst part of the recession. As long as this continues the American worker is expendable. The corporate elite consider workers disposable assets.

See chart here for Non-Farm productivity

http://research.stlouisfed.org/fred2/graph/?chart_type=line&s[1][id]=OPHNFB&s[1][range]=10yrs#Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7895164153505105997.post-43733658907265746142013-12-16T14:18:41.310-08:002013-12-16T14:18:41.310-08:00Pope Francis: Don't Call Us Marxist Because We...Pope Francis: Don't Call Us Marxist Because We Critique Capitalism -- Call Us Christian

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/paul-raushenbush/pope-francis-unfettered-capitalism_b_4449643.htmlAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
