BET TV: 2015 Presidential Justice Forum - Sanders beats Clinton

20/20 Leaders of America's Forum

Despite the corporate media's attempts to marginalize and ignore his public appearances, Bernie Sanders’ support continues to climb — even among Black voters (once they hear what he has to say.)

Last Saturday (November 21st) BET.com live-streamed the 20/20 Leaders of America's forum in Columbia, South Carolina on issues related to criminal justice. The forum featured a panel of 2016 presidential candidates, including Dr. Ben Carson, Senator Bernie Sanders and former Maryland governor Martin O'Malley.

BET News Special: Drum Poll Results From 20/20 Presidential Forum. Of the Democratic candidates, the straw poll gave 65% to Bernie Sanders, 23% to Hillary Clinton and 12% to Martin O’Malley. Of the Republicans, Ben Carson did the best — but with only 37% of the vote (beating Hillary but not Bernie).

They're feelin' the Bern and joining the political revolution! Bernie Sanders' remarks at the criminal justice 20/20 Leaders of America's forum gave him a decisive victory in the sense that once people heard him speak, they resoundingly support him.

One of the few stories circulating the mainstream media regarding Bernie Sanders’ appearance in South Carolina is buried within a story regarding his struggle to win Black voters. It was former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton who got the attention of CNN and other major news outlets for her speech on ISIS — which was televised.

Earlier Bernie Sanders laid out his definition of democratic socialism at Georgetown University. The event was live-streamed. Again, corporate media coverage of the event was sluggish at best (The full speech at Georgetown and the transcript here).

  1. Jeb Bush and Hillary Clinton didn't bother to show up at the event, but sent their proxies to represent their respective candidates.

"Are Black Women Ready for Hillary? In 2008, South Carolina was the epicenter of the Clinton campaign’s implosion. This year, she’s counting on black women to rally to her side."

Bernie Sanders met with Rev. Bernice King (the youngest child of civil rights leaders Martin Luther King, Jr. and Coretta Scott King) at the King Center in Atlanta.

If #BlackLivesMatter, then why would they vote for someone who thinks #BigBanksMatter more? (Feel the Bern!)
