IMPORTANT UPDATE: Democracy for America: "The endorsement vote is live right now — and will end at 11:59pm Eastern Time on Tuesday, December 15 --- DFA will only endorse in this presidential primary if there is overwhelming support for one candidate."
http://2016.democracyforamerica.com/?source=dfa_tw.2016-poll.20151107
And the reason why is because, as a newbie to Congress, Senator Elizabeth Warren has never self-identified as a "democratic socialist" — even though Senator Bernie Sanders has served in Congress for several decades. So the guy with most of the actual experience (and who is the only "real" progressive among the two) must get her endorsement to make him more "electable".
All the online polls shows Bernie Sanders overwhelming beating Hillary Clinton:
- Poll: Bernie Sanders keeps strong lead in TIME Person of the Year poll.
- Poll: In TIME's "face-off" poll, Bernie overwhelming leads Hillary.
- Poll: A comprehensive survey of more than 75,000 voters in all 50 states conducted over several months shows Sanders has the highest approval rating of any U.S. senator.
- Poll: Bernie Sanders is the most "electable" candidate in either party.
- Poll: www.Democrats.Com with 130,000 votes has Bernie leading Hillary 46% to 32%
- ALL online polls showed Bernie winning the first and second Democratic debates by landslides.
- Editor's note: Even my humble poll on the right side of this page shows Bernie way ahead of the pack.
But if one were only to consider the corporate media-sponsored polls, they all show:
- Real Clear Politics (currently tracking 4 polls) shows Hillary Clinton leading Bernie Sanders 58.3% to 31.5%
- HuffPost Pollster (currently tracking 198 polls from 29 pollsters) shows Hillary Clinton leading Bernie Sanders 57.0% to 32.1%
But yet, 93% of all the female Democratic Senators in Congress are currently endorsing Hillary. Why is this? The number is far out of proportion to every single poll conducted.
Boston Globe: Sen. Warren not ready to endorse in Democratic primary:
U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren says she isn’t in any rush to endorse a candidate in the Democratic presidential primary. Warren praised Democratic presidential hopeful Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders saying: "He’s out there talking from the heart, raising the issues that he’s raised for decades." Warren’s comments come after Hillary Clinton received a public embrace last week from 13 female Democratic senators. The one noticeable absence was Warren.
There are many people who will vote for Hillary Clinton ONLY BECAUSE it would make her the "first woman president" (like those 13 sexist female Senators) — regardless of Hillary's history of flip-flops and lies. If they just want a "first woman president", they might as well vote for Carly Fiorina.
Personally, I like Bernie Sanders for REAL change (not just "hope and change"). If Elizabeth Warren (and the labor unions) had endorsed Bernie, maybe he would be much more "electable". We even have phony "progressives" endorsing Hillary, rather than Bernie Sanders (who is the co-founder on the Congressional Progressive Caucus). They endorse Hillary because the corporate-sponsored polls show Hillary leading Bernie, and these political turncoats (Bill de Blasio, etc.) would rather back what they perceive to be the "winning" team, rather than voting for who they think would be the best candidate. And that's probably because, 1) They feel they owe Hillary political favors, and/or 2) They probably expect political favors in return if she's elected.
With the DNC favoring Hillary, she is winning votes from the "establishment" super-delegates. The electoral college has become corrupt, is out-dated and should be abolished. Gerrymandering and voter suppression laws hurt Democrats in general, but our corrupt political duopoly denies ALL voters real change. There are more people who identify as Independents than there are Democrats or Republicans, yet many States (if not most) force you to register as either a D or an R to vote in their primaries and/or in the general election.
In the past we have always had vote for the lesser of the two evils — for either a Republican-Lite (a "moderate" Democrat like Hillary) or a "moderate" Republican. This election cycle could have been the exception with Trump and Sanders; but the media, the DNC, the RNC, the billionaires, the "moderates" politicians and Washington insiders (pollsters, etc.) are running the election. Voters (on the left or right) have little say who their candidate is, because the popular vote doesn't matter.
Shame on the unions for backing Hillary who (until only recently) vigorously supported the TPP trade agreement; shame on those female Senators who vote against the will of their constituents; and shame on all the phony "progressive" politicians for endorsing a moderate candidate.
* Just out of spite, because of the DNC's corruption and for the Democrat's hypocrisy and meddling (about "fair" elections), I might vote for Trump — and to Hell with the Democrats. If I were Bernie, I'd run as an Independent, and let the cards fall as they may.
UPDATE
MSNBC: After Paris, 28% of Americans now say terrorism is the most important issue influencing their choice of the next president, compared to 33% who chose the economy, according to a recent Washington Post/ABC News poll — even though texting while driving is far more dangerous that ISS jihadists. But according to some polls, Americans art living in fear.
But the mainstream media's fear-mongering for ratings will not sway Bernie Sanders from his core message:
“I say that ISIS must be destroyed. But I say we are a great enough country, and a smart enough country that we can destroy ISIS as we rebuild a disappearing middle class. If you turn on the TV, what they now say is well, we’ve got one problem: It’s ISIS. We don’t have to worry about old people not having enough to eat. We don’t have to worry about having more people in jail than any other country. All we should focus on now — 24/7 — is ISIS. If you turn on the TV tonight, someone will say this is the major issue facing the country. It’s the only issue — until tomorrow’s issues. Who determines what the major issues are? You do. You have got to do that. And don’t let CNN or NBC or anybody tell you what the major issues are."
(From a reader comment) Hermann Goering on war propaganda:
"Naturally the common people don't want war — neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy — and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country."
The media doesn't want to talk about wealth and income inequality, a lack of jobs, low wages, corporate corruption, political corruption, greedy CEOs, fast-food and retail workers protesting, the upcoming budget with loopholes for corporations, under-taxed billionaires, attacks on Social Security — or anything else that affects the daily lives of most Americans. The media wants to distract from these other issues because it's not as exciting as watching or talking about a bloody massacre.
I'm only guessing but, I believe the average American citizen is more at risk from a mass shooting by a young "Christian" white man with mental issues who legally purchased a semi-automatic assault rifle, more so than they are from a foreign Muslim pledging an allegiance to ISIS. Of course, if Iran gets a nuke, that could change. But for the time being, most Americans are more at risk from someone who is texting-while-driving. But the mainstream media is driving the ISIS fear (and playing in to the ISIS strategy) by their constant 24/7 micro-reporting of terrorism — because that drives advertising ratings. But it also gives ISIS a lot of free publicity, which only helps their recruiting efforts.
It might be worth mentioning (and remembering) that the current Democrat base ( voters ) is made up of disaffected moderate Republicans who have defected from Crazy Town GOP and their swivel-eyed loons pols.
ReplyDeleteThey, in turn, have pushed out the real rank-and-file Democrat voters (union members, etc) who would vote for Sanders.
They, in turn, are voters without a party, aka independents.
Daily Kos: "We are more afraid than ever of gun violence, but the truth is, the murder rate is at a 50-year low ... Social media, the internet in general, and the 24-hour news cycle only feed these fears."

Even though Bernie Sanders overwhelming won all the polls at TIME (2015 Person of the Year, etc.) readers were all snubbed and ripped off when he was not even chosen as one of the eight finalists. But yet, Caitlyn Jenner, Donald Trump and ISIS joined TIME's shortlist — and currently Trump leads. Sanders supporters should retaliate with a massive wave of small donations to his campaign.

If Martin O’Malley was really "progressive", why is he always attacking Bernie Sanders (who co-founded the Congressional Progressive Caucus) instead of attacking Hillary Clinton, the front-runner who is a moderate?
ReplyDeleteCBS News (Dec. 10, 2015) "Sanders performs better with voters under 45 and independents ... Republican primary voters are more enthusiastic about voting than those who plan to vote in a Democratic primary. [That's because, Republican voters want ANYBODY besides Hillary; whereas, Democratic voters know the fix is in for Hillary over Bernie.] Independent voters, a key voting bloc, are not especially enthusiastic about either a Clinton or a Trump in the White House, but more are concerned or scared about Trump (67 percent) than they are about Clinton (59 percent)."
