Sanders: Clinton can't lead a Political Revolution

This morning Bernie Sanders told George Stephanopoulos pretty much everything we expected him to say — and more.

When asked, Bernie Sanders put forth his intentions as to what he hopes to accomplish after the last Democratic primary election in D.C. in two days , and after the DNC convention meets this July in Philadelphia (To the mainstream media, for the 1,000th time, no ... he's not dropping out!)

Sanders said he will do what he can to have the Democratic Party transform itself to represent working people; to make sure the Democrats have a "progressive" platform; that the party fights for healthcare for all people; that they make public colleges tuition-free; and that they more forcefully address climate change.

Good luck with all of that Senator Sanders. If the Democrats had been doing even HALF of what you proposed, you never would have ran for President to begin with.

Sanders will meet with Hillary Clinton next Tuesday night (June 14th) on the day of the last Democratic primary election in Washington D.C. to talk about the Democratic platform, and he wants to influence beyond what he says is "just a piece of paper" — and he wants a commitment from Clinton that there will be progressive taxation so that large corporations and the rich pay their fair share.

Good luck with all of that Senator Sanders. The Democrats had the White House and both chambers of Congress for two years in 2009 and 2010 and didn't even raise the minimum wage to a measly $10.10 an hour as Obama had promised while campaigning.

Also, when asked by Stephanopoulos, Sanders says he doesn't think Clinton can lead a political revolution, although he believes she is capable of making reforms, but sounded skeptical that she actually would (or go as far as he would). He said he will be looking for a commitment of some sort from Clinton, and see if she has the courage to stand up to big moneyed interests. (Good luck again Senator Sanders.)

Sanders also reiterated, "I will do, in one way or another, everything that I can, to make sure Donald Trump does not become president". Could that mean running as an Independent if Clinton trails Trumps in the polls by the summer convention? Sanders doesn't say, but many of his supporters hope that he's leaving that door open (if Clinton isn't indicted and becomes the Democratic nominee).

When asked if he would be interested in serving as vice president, Sanders said "that is very unlikely" but that "we'll see what happens after the whole campaign winds down". Many might take this to mean, what happens after DNC the convention — because no one really believes that Sanders would play second fiddle to Clinton and fetch coffee for her every morning.

When asked by Stephanopoulos about Clinton's VP choice, "If not you, Elizabeth Warren?" Sanders said that he greatly admires her, but didn't say if he would agree to having her as Clinton's VP. Warren's endorsement of Clinton on the very day Sanders was holding a campaign rally in D.C. showed a lack of class by Warren, so that must not have put her on the top of HIS VP list. (And if Warren is Clinton's VP, who will fake reigning in the banks?)

Sanders said that what his campaign has shown is that the American people are "tired of status quo politics and status quo economics". And just that in itself would disqualify Hillary Clinton, because she is status quo to the Obama bone.

All in all, Bernie Sanders might get the DNC to make a few party rules changes and/or changes to their platform, but like he said, it's just a piece of paper. The Democrats are no better at keeping their word than the Republicans. And if Sanders expects any genuine commitment from Clinton on what he desires for changes within the Democratic Party, then read the previous sentence again. (No one can really believe that Bernie Sanders would ever take anything Clinton verbally committed very seriously. For decades she's been known as a pathological liar.)

If Hillary Clinton is NOT arrested by the FBI for deliberately risking national security by using a private email server to hide her dirty business at the Clinton Global Initiative (their foundation that's run as a s-corporation to launder cash from foreign governments and wealthy donors), and she becomes the "official" nominee this summer after the superdelegates vote, then Bernie should totally disavow the corrupt Democratic party and revert to being the true Independent that he's been for decades — and then run as a 3rd party candidate. Otherwise, his political revolution is D.O.A.

  1. How Bernie Sanders is FOR regular working people; and how Hillary Clinton is NOT Bernie Sanders's plan for expanding Social Security benefits for retirees and the disabled (and to extend the life of the trust fund) lifts the cap of $118,000 a year to $250,000 — which only affects the top 5% of wage earners. (Obama was for this in 2008 when he ran against Clinton, who has always opposed this.)

Bernie Sanders's Medicare for All healthcare plan would be 2.2 percent income-based premium paid by households in their payroll taxes. A family of four making $50,000 a year (taking the standard deduction) would only pay $466 year. This is less expensive than insurance premiums and co-pays with ObamaCare. (Clinton calls this "pie in the sky", but the U.S. is the only major industrialize nation that doesn't have a similar plan because of lobbying by the healthcare industry.

Bernie Sanders's plan for free public college tuition (Trump's kids would still go to Ivy League Universities) imposes a tiny financial transaction tax on big Wall Street speculators — like the banks who ripped us that we bailed out and fined for mortgage fraud. (We already know all about Clinton's ties to Wall Street.)

Bernie Sanders wants to raise the minimum wage to a "living wage" of $15 an hour because it's just not teenagers who are working summer jobs at McDonalds anymore, it's college graduates with student debt — with many who are raising children. (Clinton says she'll "support" $12 an hour.) https://berniesanders.com/issues/a-living-wage/ Offshoring our manufacturing base to Asia has decimated our job market and turned our economy into a service economy with mostly low-paying part-time/TEMP jobs — Wage data shows 50 percent of wage earners had net compensation less than or equal to the median wage, which is estimated to be $28,851 a year — X2 for dual-income household incomes = about what the "median household income" is today. (The Clintons supported all the trade deals that offhshored all our best jobs.)
