CNN: The Clinton News Network

CNN: The Clinton News Network

(Full disclosure: The author of this post is NOT a fan of Senator Rand Paul or his father Ron.)

It looks like we might have a smoking gun after all, from an email that proves what we’ve known all along: that CNN really is the Clinton News Network (as though watching the network wasn’t enough proof).

In order to smear Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) and put a positive spin on Hillary Clinton’s Benghazi troubles, emails that Gawker received (via a Freedom of Information Act request) appear to show a high-profile CNN foreign affairs reporter (Elise Labott) coordinating directly with Hillary Clinton’s State Department.

The Daily Caller first reported in-depth: Emails: CNN Reporter Coordinated With Hillary Aide To Smear Rand Paul During 2013 Benghazi Hearing

This week’s interesting (but not surprising) revelation that a CNN foreign affairs reporter coordinated with Hillary Clinton’s State Department to launch an attack on Rand Paul has resulted in a swift rebuke from his office:

"The liberal media has taken their Clinton sycophancy to a new low. CNN needs to address this bias and lack of journalistic integrity. This email revelation should give Republicans pause as to their coverage and possibility of fair treatment towards Sen. Paul during the next debate. All eyes will be on CNN’s response to their employee colluding with Hillary Clinton in order to attack a prominent U.S. senator on their dime."

Note: When Rand Paul — or any member of the Republican Party, a Libertarian, any conservative, a Tea Party member, a Congressional member of the Freedom Caucus, a right-wing anarchist or a huckster who's selling snake oil — says "liberal media" or "mainstream media", they usually mean (excluding Fox News and conservative radio hosts) the 90% of the media that's controlled by 6 corporations.

FYI: Zerohedge also reported: Busted: Hillary Caught Coordinating With CNN To Smear Rand Paul. Prior to this, when Hillary Clinton's emails were first released, CNN's Elise Labott played it all down as "no bombshells" and "mundane".

CNN reporter coordinated with Hillary Clinton

Recently Elise Labott has been suspended for two weeks following a tweet where she sarcastically said the “Statue of Liberty bows head in anguish” because of the House vote to put the breaks on Obama’s refugee program.

From a related post at Gawker titled Emails Show Politico’s Mike Allen Promised Positive Coverage of Chelsea Clinton:

"Few journalists are more thoroughly connected to Washington’s power elite than Politico’s Chief White House correspondent Mike Allen. But as newly released emails between the veteran reporter and a former State Department official show, Allen’s coveted access sometimes comes at the cost of his own credibility—as well as Politico’s reputation as an adversarial news outlet."

The 4-minute video below artistically reveals how the top .01 percent's corporate media continuously lies in omission and commission to keep the other 99.99% distracted. The purpose of distraction by the mediathe 6 corporations who control 90% of our media — is to conceal their complicity in the ongoing war on democracy and average workers by the billionaire-class.

The Clinton News Network (CNN) is owned by Time-Warner — whereas Fox News is owned by the Australian-born billionaire Rupert Murdoch — and NBC, MSNBC and CNBC is owned by Comcast. CBS is owned by Viacom and ABC is owned by Walt Disney — the world's second largest media conglomerate after Comcast.

Earlier this year Comcast was forced to abandon a $45 billion Time Warner Cable acquisition after spending more than $400 million on lawyers, lobbyists, and consultants. Two months later Comcast executive vice president David Cohen hosted a $2,700-a-plate fundraiser for Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign.

So I suppose, beside just Time Warner, Comcast is also behind the Clinton News Network — so it's no wonder Senator Bernie Sanders doesn't get the same coverage as Hillary — either as positive reporting or in honest polling, all to influence the elections and democracy. And those emails show that Hillary Clinton is very much a part of the problem.

  1. Center for Public Integrity:

"A staggering 77 percent of the $26.2 million Bernie Sanders, an independent U.S. senator running as a Democrat, collected during the third quarter came from contributors giving $200 or less. The haul helped Sanders narrow the fundraising gap between his campaign and that of Democratic Party frontrunner Hillary Clinton, who raised $29.9 million during the same period ... The strongest small donor campaigns are not about raising money, they’re about raising enthusiasm and getting actions ... Dollar for dollar, small-dollar donors are worth more than big-dollar donors. Those are the donors that can keep giving over and over [and] such donors are also likely to turn out to vote for a candidate, and possibly volunteer as well."

But Democratic political consultant Joe Trippi, best known for serving as Howard Dean’s campaign manager in 2004 when the former Vermont governor broke fundraising records during his failed presidential bid, says:

"Both party establishments are pretty good at making sure that a candidate who isn’t of the establishment doesn’t make it ... It’s not just the money. A lot of the rules and things are set up to stop insurgent candidates ... The entire Democratic establishment would come out of the woodwork to stop Bernie Sanders from being the nominee. The establishment fervently believes that a socialist cannot be president of the United States."
