I wonder when McDonalds will use tax inversion the way Burger King did to avoid taxes.

  1. Paul Craig Roberts is an economist who served for one year as an Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Economic Policy in the Reagan administration. This is what he recently wrote: "The Real State of Unemployment"

What does it mean that the unemployment rate is over 10% after six years of alleged economic recovery? In 1994 the Clinton regime stopped counting long-term discouraged workers as unemployed. Clinton wanted his economy to look better than Reagan’s, so he ceased counting the long-term discouraged workers that were part of Reagan’s unemployment rate. John Williams (shadowstats.com) continues to measure the long-term discouraged with the official methodology of that time, and when these unemployed are included, the US rate of unemployment as of July 2015 is 23%

CNN: Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump agree on 1 big issue: They think the U.S. government's jobs numbers are a crock. Bernie Sanders told a huge crowd at a rally that "real unemployment" in America is over 10%. CNN says Bernie is only partly right, because he uses the U-6 unemployment rate rather than the media reported U-3 rate. But if Sanders and CNN added all the people who dropped out of the labor force and are no longer counted in the unemployment rate (because they couldn't find jobs), then the number would actually be closer to Donald Trump's 18 to 20%.

  3. Paul Krugman: Republicans [other then Donald Trump] Against Retirement

"While most Americans love Social Security, the wealthy don’t. By a very wide margin, ordinary Americans want to see Social Security expanded — but by an even wider margin, Americans in the top 1 percent want to see it cut. The eventual Republican nominee — assuming that it’s not Mr. Trump — will be committed not just to a renewed attack on Social Security, but to a broader plutocratic agenda. Whatever the rhetoric, the GOP is on track to nominate someone who has won over the big money by promising government by the 1 percent, for the 1 percent."
