DemoPublican Presidential Debate

(* NOTE: My Bernie/Hillary updates are in the comment section below.)

CNN announced they'll be running Trump's event for Wounded Warriors at the same time that Fox News airs the GOP debate.

If you had to watch TV tonight, and you only had these two choices, and could only watch either one, which one would you watch: Trump rally on CNN or the GOP debate on Fox?

Clinton's Labor Secretary Endorses Bernie Sanders for President

Allow me to thank Robert Reich, the former Secretary of Labor under President Bill Clinton, for endorsing Senator Bernie Sanders for President in 2016. Here's what he said on Twitter:

Hillary Clinton drooling over President Obama again

I just read a very ridiculous piece where Hillary is slobbering all over Obama again. If I were the President, I'd be starting to feel just a little bit uncomfortable right about now.

Politico: Hillary Clinton's "experience" partly her imagination

  • Then-Senator Hillary Clinton officially announced she would run for President on January 20, 2007.
  • Soon afterwards then-Senator Joe Biden officially signed papers with the FEC to run for President on January 31, 2007.
  • And right on Biden's heels was then-Senator Barack Obama, who also announced his run for President on February 10, 2007.

Will Congressional Progressive Caucus endorse Bernie Sanders?

Or will they endorse the moderate/centrist Hillary Clinton? So far she has the vast majority of congressional endorsements — and as of last month Clinton had 359 supper-delegates to Bernie's 11. Out of 4,764 votes at the Democratic National Convention, one of the candidates will need 2,383 votes to secure the nomination.

Conservatives chose Sanders as 2nd choice behind Trump

Of course, that's assuming more conservatives and Republicans (rather than liberals, progressives and Democrats) visit this conservative website. I'm guessing they do, because they chose Donald Trump as their 1st choice.

The conservative Drudge Report originated in 1996 and was the first news source to break the Monica Lewinsky scandal to the public about the stained blue dress after Newsweek (then owned by the Washington Post, who broke the Watergate story) refused to publish the story.

Bernie Sanders: After there were People

Bernie News

Clinton's Attacks on Bernie Sanders are Falling Flat

* What I learned from the Washington Post today through links in their daily newsletter...

Hillary Clinton's "misguided war" helped create ISIS

Hillary Clinton had voted YEA for George W. Bush's war in Iraq and Bernie Sanders had voted NAY.

Citing his own opposition to the Iraq war, Obama had hammered Hillary Clinton over her vote during the 2008 presidential campaign. Since losing that election Clinton wrote in her 2014 book Hard Choices that she "got it wrong."

Bernie Sanders is Kicking @ss in Iowa!!!

New CNN/ORC poll released January 21, 2016

Among likely Democratic caucus goers in Iowa, Bernie Sanders now leads Hillary Clinton

Blacks who don't remember Clinton's past are condemned to repeat it

[Editor's Note: I was curious as to why Hillary Clinton was so popular among Black voters, so I did a Google search — and was very surprised to see that, they actually had more reasons not to support her. Here is a collection of quotes I found in the first articles that appeared on the Clinton legacy regarding African-Americans, which made me wonder: Why would Black voters vote against their own best interests ... again? And then I remembered Hillary saying that she wasn't running for her husband's third term, she was running for her first term. But even so, does that mean that no matter what happened during the 8 years the Clintons were in the White House, that none of that should matter now? ]

Desperate Clinton Campaign Resorts to Usual Dirty Tricks

When you're behind in the polls, then polls don't matter. That's what Hillary Clinton inferred on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon when she said "Polls are artificial".

But when you fall behind in the polls because you can't win an argument based on policy differences, and if you're seen as being too dishonest, and if people know you've been in the pockets of the big banks, then you can always resort to good old-fashion name-calling. There is nothing the Clinton campaign won't do in their power grab while running for the highest office in the land — as if 8 years in the White House wasn't enough already.

What can Hillary do that Obama or Bernie can't? Nada

Most likely, if Hillary Clinton is ever elected, she could do even less than President Obama did, and probably far less than Senator Bernie Sanders ever could. [IMHO, I say let's give Bernie the bully pulpit and find out!]

Bernie Sanders Kicking @ss in New Hampshire!!!

Hillary and Bill Clinton: Breaking Bad

(Update on 1/22/16) Together, Hillary Clinton and her husband Bill have earned in excess of $125 million in speech income since leaving the White House in 2001 — about $40 million of it in the last two years.

This morning Democratic Senator Jeanne Shaheen, a big supporter of Hillary Clinton, was interviewed on MSNBC and asked if it was a mistake for Clinton to be taking those speaking fees from the big banks. Shaheen's response was, "That was all in the past, just like Bernie's socialism was in the past."

Bernie Sanders releases "Medicare for All" plan

Hillary Clinton came out with guns blazing as the polls tighten up in Iowa and nationally. And as Bernie Sanders’ lead in New Hampshire continued to grow, she opted to mislead Americans about single-payer health care — a.k.a. Medicare for all.

Now today, Bernie Sanders just released his Medicare for All plan — just hours before the 4th Democratic debate tonight. (Live streamed here from NBC on YouTube — starting at 6 p.m. PT)

Great News for Bernie Sanders Fans!

Here is some heart-warming news for Bernie fans via MSNBC, which is in relation to a new Iowa poll via the Des Moines Register: "Hillary Clinton has lost most of her lead over Bernie Sanders in the race to win Iowa’s Democratic presidential caucuses."

Jobs, Unemployment, Not in the Labor Force, Jobless Benefits & More (Jan. 2016)

Jobs Created

Keep this in mind when reading this post. From the Bureau of Labor Statistics JOLTS report on January 12, 2016: "Over the 12 months ending in November 2015, hires totaled 61.2 million and separations totaled 58.6 million, yielding a net employment gain of 2.6 million. These totals include workers who may have been hired and separated more than once during the year."

Chelsea Clinton says Mom supports Free College Tuition

It seems as though every good original idea Bernie Sanders proposes, Hillary later claims she'll do the same. Hillary must be Feeling the Bern! Now we're just waiting for her formal endorsement of Bernie ;)

Hillary Clinton's Attack on Bernie Sanders fails Truth-Meter

The Clintons have been well known for their political dirty tricks for many years. Now that recent polls show Bernie Sanders leading Hillary Clinton in both New Hampshire and Iowa — not to mention an endorsement by MoveOn and Vice President Joe Biden — Hillary and her campaign are resorting to the Clintons' old school method of political expediency: just lie like Hell. They are ruthless, and will do and say anything to get back into the White House.

Bernie polls better than Hillary against GOP (Clinton Supporters in Media Digress)

Is this supposed to be another reason why we should vote for Hillary Clinton, besides just because she's a woman, but because she knows where the Oval office is?

DNC Chair Endorses Hillary Clinton

Debbie Wasserman Schultz, the current chair of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) should resign and do what the former chair on the DNC is doing now — campaigning for Hillary Clinton — because after all, that's what Debbie Wasserman Schultz has been been doing all along anyway.

Bernie Sanders vs. Hillary Clinton on Paid Family Leave

While Bernie Sanders was in Iowa yesterday, he called for paid family and medical leave in a short news conference. No cable news stations broke in to their regularly scheduled programming to air this LIVE — like they do every time Donald Trump speaks at a rally. (His press release is here.)

Why isn't Governor Rick Snyder free on Bail?

He should have already been arrested, charged and finger-printed. If he we're just an ordinary citizen, he would have already been made to post bail by now.

Nevada is Feelin' the Bern for Senator Sanders

Excerpted and edited from The Washington Post (January 6, 2016):

Gordon Gekko Endorsed Hillary Clinton

Actually, it was Michael Douglas who endorsed her ... but still ... it's not Hillary Clinton who would reign in Wall Street. She'll talk the talk, but unlike Sanders, she won't walk the walk. She and husband have always been a big part of the problem. She defends Bill's record on Wall Street, so how can Hillary Clinton now claim to part of the solution?

Hillary Clinton vs. Senator Bernie Sanders on Guestworker H-1B Visas

In a nutshell: Judging by the past, Hillary will most likely support importing more cheap labor to displace more American workers and further depress domestic wages — whereas, Bernie most probably won't.

UPDATE March 19, 2016: CISCO's Republican CEO and "Outsourcer-and-Chief" supports the TPP trade deal. Today he just endorsed Hillary Clinton for president!

Awesome Bernie Sanders rally after the Rose Parade

As the 127th Tournament of Roses Parade came to a close last Friday morning (January 1, 2016), Bernie Sanders supporters came out in full force to rally on Colorado Blvd in Pasadena, California. During that time, someone took to the skies to share a political message with the words "America is great!" and "Trump is disgusting" and "Anybody but Trump" in sky writing over the parade route (photos below).

Poll: Americans are Broke and Angry

A new survey conducted by NBC, Esquire and Survey Monkey shows nearly half (49%) of all Americans in an online poll of 3,257 adults say they feel angrier today than they did a year ago — while 42% say they're just as angry (and only 8% say they're less angry).

My Daily Rant (January 4, 2016)

After a huge drop in stock prices this morning, today the Dow Jones stock exchange is where it was one year and three months ago. It's reported that the decline in manufacturing in China and the drop in oil prices are major contributors. [Although, I thought cheap energy was supposed to be a "good thing" — and maybe our CEOs shouldn't have offshored so much of our manufacturing to China.]

Millennials: Meet Bill Clinton and the Stained Blue Dress

Why would Hillary have her husband Bill campaign for her — unless it's to remind us of all the reasons why we shouldn't vote for her.
